The purpose of this Sources Sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification relative to NAICS 339112 (size standard of 1,000 Employees). Responses to this RFI/Sources Sought Notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this RFI/Sources Sought Notice, further RFIs and/or a solicitation or other announcements may be published. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 22 Long Beach Network Contracting Office is seeking sources capable of providing Laser Handpiece for the VA Long Beach Healthcare System that can address the draft salient characteristics described below. Brandname Information: Manufacturer & Part Number(s): Candela Corp, 7123-00-0191 Type: 785 Handpiece Assembly Equal to product name: Laser Handpiece Salient Characteristics: Wavelength Function Must operate at 785-nanometer wavelength 5 nanometers, which is effective for treating pigmented lesions and tattoos, especially those with blue or green ink. System Compatibility Must be compatible with a picosecond laser system that delivers energy pulses shorter than 500 picoseconds, allowing for effective treatment with minimal heat damage. Adjustable Spot Sizes Must offer a range of spot sizes between 2 millimeters and 10 millimeters (mm) to allow flexibility when treating different skin types and areas. Power Output Must be capable of delivering at least 0.5 Joules of energy per pulse to treat deep pigmentation while protecting surrounding skin. Control Through Main Unit Must integrate with the laser system s screen or controls so the operator can adjust energy level, pulse speed, and spot size.
