Summary

AI-generated · Jan 24, 2026

Data Transfer Unit (flight-critical item) requires government engineering source approval (design control activity) to maintain part quality. Only previously approved sources are being solicited; any alternate source must qualify under the design control procedures and be approved by the cognizant government engineering activity. The approved sources hold necessary data rights and manufacturing/repair knowledge that isn’t economically available to the Government. If you’re not an approved source, you must submit the information specified in NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Brochures (Spares or Repair) with your proposal. If a new-source approval can’t be processed in time, the award may proceed to meet Fleet support needs.

This action is a sole-source under FAR 6.302-1; the notice is not a competitive procurement, but all responsible sources may identify interest and capability. Proposals or quotations from interested parties will be considered if received within 45 days (30 days if awarded under an existing BOA). Interested parties should note that the government may continue with an award based on Fleet requirements if the new-source approval cannot be processed timely. Information on source-approval data and related DoD sources is available to assist potential offerors.
