This RFI is for U.S. Government planning purposes only and constitutes requests for exchange of information pursuant to FAR Part 10. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Contracts Department, Code 02 is conducting Market Research on the 5-inch Projectile Body. Interested vendors are requested to provide the following company information. Company Name, Company Address, Point of Contact (Name, Title, Phone Number, Email Address), CAGE Code, DUNS Number, Business Size Please describe how your company satisfies the following requirements: 1. The 5-inch Projectile Body needs to be compatible with the United States Navy MK 45 Gun Weapon System. 2. Contractor must have a manufacturing line established and be able to support the U.S. Government by: a. Providing a compliant First Article sample within 12 months of award, and b. First delivery of 7,500 units within 12 months after that (24 mos after award). Request your company provide responses to the following questionnaire: 1. Does your company have a production line available that can meet the requirements mentioned above? If yes, describe your company's history, experience with supplying this item, to include at a minimum total number supplied to date with relevant contract numbers, location of the production line, specialized equipment used, and how it is ready to support USG requirements today. 2. What is the rate of production the manufacturing facility is capable of per year? Please support that question with rate for minimum sustainment, regular operations, as well as surge operations (max capability). 3. Describe the personnel qualifications, quality controls and quality management system that is in place at your company to ensure build compliance. Include current quality certifications as well as any quality control measure specific to the Projectile Body. 4. Provide a brief description of the Projectile Body that meets the request to include at a minimum: material make up, weight, projectile shape, internal cavity description/volume, rotating band material(s)/method of attachment, and any other special features. *Submission of a Technical Data Package supporting this description is not required to be submitted as part of this request, but will be accepted after your initial response. 5. Give an overview of your established supply chain from raw material through final item delivery. What are the raw material lead times for the Projectile Body, and what are the geographic locations they are acquired from? Explain how your supply chain is resilient to disruptions (geopolitical events, natural disasters, etc.)? 6. Do test reports exist that demonstrate your projectile body s manufacturing accuracy and reliability? 7. Are you able to supply documented ability of your company's projectile bodies to function safely and reliably with the MK 45 Gun Weapon System? What inert/explosive fills, and what inert/live fuzes have your projectile body been tested with? If yes for #6 and #7, please provide at minimum, a listing of those reports, and summary of the results, test dates, etc. *Actual reports are not required to be submitted as part of this request for information but will be accepted after your initial response to this. 8. If your facility is OCONUS, please provide experience with delivery to the US including established permits/licenses with the appropriate authorities (ATF, etc). 9. Describe any Government Furnished Equipment/Property (GFE/GFP) required to support this request. 10. Provide ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) pricing for final delivered product to the US. If you are an OCONUS supplier, please include any exchange rates, potential tariffs, and shipping methods included in the calculation. 11. Provide a notional schedule including major milestones that support meeting the requested delivery timelines.
