The purpose of this sole source award to COAST MACHINERY LLC is to acquire a multi-use amphibious tracked vehicle (with rotary cutter and trailer) capable of operating in coastal salt marshes and other wetland environments. This equipment is mission-critical for wildfire suppression, prescribed fire operations, and hazardous fuels reduction projects in areas inaccessible to traditional Type 6 wildland engines due to saturated soils and dense vegetation. Market research confirmed that no other vendors or products meet the required specifications and operational needs for this requirement.
