Summary

AI-generated · Aug 27, 2025

Provide a mobile, trailer-mounted portable chiller sized about 55–60 nominal tons to support building chilled-water systems at multiple facility locations. It will be used as a temporary replacement when a permanent chiller goes offline, connected to in-situ chilled-water taps and bypass valves to transfer the building’s system to the portable unit. The trailer and all contents are to be provided by the responder, and the system will be moved as needed—approximately 5–10 times per year.

Performance and integration requirements: minimum flow of 2.6 GPM per ton (roughly 143–160 GPM total), system pressure of 30 psi, and a leaving chilled-water temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit (plus or minus). All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Page 1 of 2 SF30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE Amendment 0001 for RFQ 36C26025Q0717 is being issued for the following: Disseminate the following questions and answers submitted by interested parties. What is the application being cooled? The application is building chilled water systems of various sizes. The portable chiller (RFQ ed at a certain tonnage) may be used at various locations on our facility, with varying loads, depending on need. The idea is that when one of our permanent building chillers goes off-line, we can pull this trailer up to it and use our in situ chilled water taps and by-pass valves to transfer the building s chilled water system to the portable. The portable needs to be 55-60 nominal tons to cover our chillers in that size range. We have a smaller one that we use for smaller needs. Will this be a mobile-mounted chiller, and how often will the system be moved? The answer to this question is contained in the SOW (which mentions portable, and the trailer size required; the trailer is also provided by the responder of this RFQ, as the trailer contains all the contents.) As far as the question how often will the system be moved , that depends on when we need it. But an annual guestimate is about 5-10 moves annually. What flow rate and pressure are required for the process, and what leaving fluid temperature should be maintained? The chiller needs to meet all of the following: Flow rate, 2.6 GPM per ton minimum ( so 143- 160 GPM), pressure is 30 psi, chilled water leaving temp = 55 degrees F (+/-) All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
