Summary

AI-generated · Dec 10, 2025

Procure one DMC 270 FD Portal Series CNC Universal Milling Machine under Purchase Description VIBB 24-13-1027. The CNC control is upgraded from the 840D to Siemens Sinumerik One (Celos) with standard features, providing programmable automatic control of all machine functions and axes, MDI, simultaneous axis control, linear and circular interpolation, part program edit/storage, fixed cycles, and diagnostics. The system stores command data in memory, issues fault halts, and automatically shuts down on unsafe temperatures; the contractor must supply a user interface key for operator and maintenance use.

Size and capacity remain the same, but the base 40 hp rating is increased to 56 hp to reflect the optioned grinding package included in the current scope of work. A new 3.9.1.1 requirement adds Grating, Support Structure, and Toe boards to meet OSHA 29 CFR walking-working surface standards: no hole/opening larger than specified, edges protected, epoxy-coated new support components, and reinforced, clearly marked heavy-load walkways capable of supporting forklift loading/unloading loads (up to about 16,360 lbs). Installations must comply with OSHA walking-surface width requirements and include protective markings. Offers remain open for a specified period, and questions may be directed to the listed contact person.

The purpose of this amendment is to: 1. Incorporate the following information into Solicitation SPE4A8-25-R-0008, for One (1) DMC 270 FD Portal Series CNC Universal Milling Machine in accordance with Purchase Description VIBB 24-13-1027, Dated 04 December 2025, with changes to the following: Before Amendment: 3.3.5 Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Features. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Features. The machine controllers shall consist of Celos with Siemens 840D CNC incorporating all standard features. The CNC unit shall provide programmable automatic control of machine functions, operating modes, axis movement and other part program directed functions for the machine. Movement in all axes shall be both synchronous and independent positioning. Control features shall include Manual Data Input (MDI), simultaneous control of all axes, linear interpolation, circular interpolation, programmable interface, part program edit, buffer edit capability, part program storage, fixed cycles, and control diagnostics. The CNC shall direct machine functions from command data stored in memory. The data stored in memory shall be input by the media specified herein. The control shall initiate a halt and error signal should a fault condition occur in the control. The control shall automatically shut down when internal operating temperatures exceed safe operating limits. The controller shall have the following features. In addition, the contractor shall identify and provide user interface key for operator and maintenance. After Amendment: 3.3.5 Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Features. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Features. The machine controllers shall consist of Celos with Siemens Sinumerik One CNC incorporating all standard features.
