Y--CONSTRUCTION OF THE LOGISTICS FACILITY

NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Construction of theLogistics Facility (Shipping & Receiving) (Building 35). The facility is approximately98,000 total gross square foot. The total is comprised of a one-story high bay/low bayShipping and Receiving area of approximately 25,000 gross square feet and a two-storyWarehouse area of approximately 73,000 gross square feet. Associated work includes sitework including clearing, grading, earthwork, auger-cast-in-place pile and pile capfoundations, structural slab on grade, pre-engineered metal building and standing metalseam roof, interior lighting, partitions, doors and hardware, floor tile, stairs, ceilinggrid, ductwork, rooftop heat pumps, bathrooms, dry pipe sprinklers, fire alarm, loadingdock, overhead rolling doors and dock levelers, 13.8 kV pad mounted transformer,electrical switchboard, distribution panels, interior and exterior lighting, convenienceoutlets, building grounding system, parking, road striping, sidewalk, new and upgradedroadways, temporary and permanent security fencing, underground utilities including stormdrain, sanitary, water, communication, and power, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management pond. This solicitation includes the basic requirement and seven (7)bid additives. The order of magnitude for the procurement is over $10,000,000 and the effort shall becompleted within 455 calendar days after the issuance of the notice to proceed.This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1.The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 236220 and$33.5M, respectively.The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about February 17,2010 with ananticipated bid opening date of on or about March 19, 2010.The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals will be stated in the IFB.
