DESCRIPTION OF ACTION: This is a sale source contract action which includes a Design-Build service necessary for the proper execution and completion of the project entitled D/8 Interim Waste Center at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, San 3uan, Puerto Rico. 3. DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES/SERVICES: The Department of Veterans Affairs VA Caribbean Healthcare System intents to develop a Design-Build service. Work includes the specialized construction labor and supervision. work; materials and equipment's provision; and certain other related architectural, mechanical, structural electronically, and demolition work as required by this contract, specifications and/or conceptual lay-out drawings, estimated value is $165218,80. 4, AUTHORITY CITED: FAR 631:12-1(a) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy-y agency requirements. 5. REASON FOR AUTHORITY CITED: JWD Engineering is presently performing construction contracts at. VACH5 premises and therefore no mobilization is required providing the Government cost savings. This project completion is of utmost. importance due it has an impact on the new Administration building scheduled to begin construction in August 2009,ThIs project will also support the eighty percent (80%) of NRM award goals by June 30', 2009, 6. EFFORTS TO OBTAIN COMPETITION: None. See paragraph 5. 7, FAIR AND REASONABLE PRICE DETERMINATION: Fair and reasonable determination will be made based on current market prices for design/construction work, 8.
