Summary
The US Park Service, Virginia Major Acquisition Buying Office is issuing a Pre-Solicitation Notice for Railroad Supplies consisting of a Diamond Crossing and Track Rail, Turnouts, and Other Track Materials, and Option Line for Reconditioned Switch Points, Option Line for Grade #5 Ties, and Option Line for Compromise Bars, to be procured and delivered to Steamtown National Historic Site, Scranton, PA 18503, FOB Destination. The supplies contemplated have been determined to be commercial in nature and will be utilizing FAR Part 12, Acquisitions of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 331110, Iron Steel Mills and Ferroalloy Manufacturing and is being solicited as Full and Open competition. As a result of the Solicitation, one Firm Fixed Price award consisting of a base award and separately priced option line items is contemplated based on low price. All Options will be pursuant to FAR 52.232-18, Availability of Funds and some, all, or no options will be exercised. A solicitation will be issued as a Request for Quotes (RFQ) and will be electronically posted on Federal Business Opportunities (http://www.fbo.gov), on or about April 24, 2014. The Government will not distribute hard-copy solicitations or amendments. The solicitation must be downloaded from the internet. Once the solicitation is posted, all interested offerers will be required to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents. All responsible sources may submit a quote that shall be considered by the agency. All prospective offerors interested in submitting a quote in response to the solicitation must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) to be considered for award.
